Adapt Psychological Services

Building Strength, Inside and Out

About Us

At the heart of healing lies a powerful, fundamental truth: humans have an incredible capacity to adapt.

When you face a difficult life experience, your mind is challenged with the task of making sense of it and finding your way forward. In therapy, we help guide this process of adaptation, helping you build stronger, more helpful actions and ways of thinking so you can move forward with resilience.

We see this same powerful principle in strength training. When you introduce a physical challenge (of an appropriate intensity), your body’s response isn’t to break, but to adapt—rebuilding itself stronger than before.

Adapt Psychological Services embodies this philosophy. We are here to help you connect with your innate ability to grow stronger, both mentally and physically.

Whether you’re working to heal from the past or overcome current challenges, through individual therapy or our therapeutic strength training, our mission is to provide the tools, support, and expertise you need not just to recover, but to grow stronger—inside and out.

Hi, my name is Dr. Komarek and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, and the founder of Adapt Psychological Services. I specialize in helping people heal and recover from trauma, whether it’s from a single major life event (such as sexual assault) or ongoing interpersonal abuse (for instance, growing up in a chaotic home environment or experiencing persistent invalidation of one’s thoughts and feelings).

My style is warm and accepting, and I like to work collaboratively with each person. My goal is to help people move beyond merely reducing symptoms, and towards making their lives more meaningful and fulfilling. Simply put, I want to help you not only survive, but thrive.

Annie Brennan, PsyD

“I believe in supporting youth, honoring their experiences, and empowering their families.”

As a psychologist who specializes in working with children and adolescents, Dr. Brennan approaches her work from a trauma-informed and family-systems perspective. She is dedicated to helping youth discover their strengths, understand their needs, and develop the confidence to advocate for themselves.

Recognizing that play is often a child’s primary language, Dr. Brennan integrates a person-centered, play-based approach to foster expression, healing, and connection. Her treatment approach is tailored to each client’s unique presenting needs and often incorporates evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and skills drawn from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness practices.
